Questions about the work
How we quote, what we build, and how hosting and smaller updates work.
What does QuickHTTP actually do?
We build new websites, host them, upgrade older sites and redesign ones that no longer represent the business. That covers everything from a single-page site to a fully operational ecommerce shop.
How do you price a project?
On the customer’s requirements and how complex the task is. We write a scope and a cost, and we agree that with you before any project work starts.
Can bigger jobs be a fixed time and rate?
Yes. For larger builds we can agree a fixed block of time at an agreed rate, so both sides know the commitment before we begin.
What are hour slots?
Packs of time you can buy for smaller updates once a site is live — copy changes, new images, extra pages, seasonal offers and similar work that does not need a full project quote.
Do you take on ecommerce?
Yes. We can build a shop that takes orders, with products, checkout, payments and the hosting behind it. Ecommerce is scoped carefully because product count and checkout rules change the size of the job.
Do you work with MySQL and MariaDB?
Yes. We work with both MySQL and MariaDB — setting them up with a new site, hosting them, or moving an existing database when we take on the hosting. Ecommerce shops and anything with accounts or stored records usually need one of these.
Can you register a domain name?
Yes. We can register domains and keep them with the hosting, or work with a name you already own. DNS, SSL and renewals are part of looking after the site.
Can you move my existing site and domain?
Usually, yes. We plan the move so DNS, email and hosting switch with as little downtime as possible. Tell us who currently holds the domain and hosting when you get in touch.
Do I need to supply content?
It helps. Photos, prices, service lists and the words you already use with customers make a better site. If content is thin, we will say so in the scope rather than inventing it.
Where are you based?
Halifax, West Yorkshire. We work with customers across the UK; much of the work is remote, with calls and a written brief.
